Excessive charting causes nurse practitioner burnout

As The Nurse Practitioner Charting Coach, I work first hand with nurse practitioners to implement charting and time management tips to help them STOP charting at home. And a majority of nurse practitioners I work with are struggling with nurse practitioner burnout.

While there are multiple factors that contribute to these struggles, the most significant is the fact that charting causes nurse practitioner burnout.

The excessive amount of charting, plus the additional tasks (refilling medications, analyzing diagnostic data, and the never ending patient messages), is difficult for nurse practitioners to complete during the work day.

So many nurse practitioners stay late at the office or bring their charts home. This in turn disrupts work-life balance as many nurse practitioners sacrifice time with family to finish charting. Not to mention the never ending stress and mental fatigue this excessive charting causes.

I have seen it time and time again: excessive charting causes nurse practitioner burnout.

Charting resources for nurse practitioners

If you have experienced the fact that excessive charting causes nurse practitioner burnout, you are not alone. There are thousands of burned-out nurse practitioners that also struggle with these factors.

This is why I created The Nurse Practitioner Charting School to help APRNs implement the charting and time management tips they need to STOP charting at home and overcome nurse practitioner burnout.

Here are a few of the top resources to overcome that charting causes nurse practitioner burnout.
