I was ready to leave healthcare.

ready to leave healthcare

I was tired.

I was detached.

I was ready to leave healthcare.

(Read more about my burnout in healthcare story).

When I finally realized I needed to change my life to overcome the burnout, I came to the conclusion that I needed to do something I had never done before.

I was sick and tired of the burnout. Of feeling sorry for myself. Of wishing I had a life that other people had. I needed to take the action steps, improve my mindset, and ultimately change my life.

It took time. It took energy. It took trial and error.

But I was willing to change.

Anytime we make a change or create a habit, it is hard. It takes effort. It takes tenacity. It takes doing the things you have never done before. It is so easy to stay in our comfort zone. To keep going through the motions without any hardship. To think “I am ready to leave healthcare.”

But breaking out of your comfort zone is what helps you grow.

If you want to lose weight, you have to create a diet and exercise plan you have never done before. If you want to save money, you will make sacrifices you have never made in the past. If you want to change your charting, you will have to develop the time management habits that are new to you.

No matter what kind of change you are wanting to make, you will have to take the action steps you have never done before.

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, now is the time.

If you are tired of constantly feeling behind, now is the time.

If you are feeling burned-out in your nurse practitioner job, now is the time.

If you are sick of bringing charts home and disrupting your work-life balance, now is the time.

If you are ready to leave healthcare, now is the time.

If you want to see new results, you have to do something different.

You have to keep going when times are hard.

You have to take responsibility and take charge.

You have to overcome the fear and be brave enough to make the change.

You have to believe in order to achieve.

You have to commit.

You have to overcome the challenges.

If you are going through a hard time right now, take a moment to reflect on where you are at in life.

Are you wishing you could make a change? Are you sick and tired of feeling the way you do? Do you wish you had more time with your family? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to overcome the burnout? Do you want to create a better life? Are you actually ready to leave healthcare?

I challenge you with this…..

What is ONE thing you can do to get out of your comfort zone?

What is one change you can make TODAY?

Remember,

If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.
